The Information Management Center (IMC) for Water and Land has released the Somaliland Weekly Weather Forecast for 11–17 August 2026. Light rainfall is expected in parts of western Somaliland, particularly Lughaya, Baki and Borama districts, together with northern parts of Hargeisa and Gabiley, while predominantly dry conditions are expected across much of Togdheer, Sool, Sanaag and other areas. Rainfall recorded during 04–10 August brought localized improvements in soil moisture and water availability, with Amoud recording 42 mm, Wajaale 37 mm, Taysa 34 mm and Borama 26 mm. The outlook highlights potential benefits for agriculture, pasture, and livestock water access in rainfall-receiving areas, while communities in areas receiving little rainfall are advised to continue conserving available water resources and monitoring pasture and crop conditions.
